Italian Aristocrat Supports Zambian Vulnerables Through Tourism Ambassador

An Italian aristocrat and noble, Prince Paolo Di Giovine, has generously donated a sum to the Embassy of Zambia in Rome. This altruistic gesture, marked by a historical connection between Italy and Zambia, took place yesterday.

The donation, amounting to €2,000.00, is earmarked for the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Zambia. It aims to provide a little financial support to elderly individuals in the rural areas of the country, ensuring they receive much-needed stipends to alleviate their vulnerabilities.

The handing over ceremony done at the Zambian Embassy in Rome and graced by the presence of His Excellency. Patricia Chisanga Kondolo, Ambassador of Zambia to Italy; Dr. Nchimunya Chisuta, Economic Counsellor of the Embassy; Prince Paolo Di Giovine; Princess Denise Di Giovine and Michela Gabriele Sanquest, Goodwill Tourism Ambassador of Zambia in Rome.

The assembly of such distinguished members of Italian nobility underscores the deep-rooted tradition of philanthropy within aristocratic circles.

The historical ties between Italy and Zambia add a layer of significance to this event. Italy, with its rich heritage of art, culture, and renaissance, has long been a beacon of civilization and progress in Europe. Zambia, known for its diverse wildlife and vast landscapes, shares a legacy of resilience and cultural richness, having gained independence from British colonial rule in 1964.

This philanthropic effort was meticulously organized by Prince Paolo Di Giovine and Michela Gabriele Sanquest, who also serves as the Global Ambassador of the African Tourism Board.

It was Michela who proposed this charitable endeavor to the aristocrats, ensuring that the funds would reach the elderly in Zambia’s rural communities.

Their collaboration highlights a bridge of goodwill and mutual respect between Italy and Zambia, reinforcing the noble spirit of humanitarianism that transcends borders.

Ministry of Tourism Zambia Receives 100 million USD to Boost Sector

The Ministry of Tourism, Zambia has received a whooping 100 million usd to boost its tourism sector .

Making the announcement recently in Luzaka, Hon.Rodney Sikumba, Minister of Tourism, Zambia made it known at a press briefing in Lusaka that Green, Resilient and Transformational Tourism Development Project( GREAT -TDP) will officially take off from January 2024.

The funding came from the World Bank after its Executive Board of Directors in June last year approved credit sum which aimed at supporting and boosting the nature based economy of Zambia in the Liuwa Plains National Park , which happens to be the source of the Zambezi River as well as Kasba Bay.

This fund would go a very long way at bolstering the economic and environmental opportunities in the emerging tourism space of Zambia.

At the press briefing was also the Country Director for of the World Bank for Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, Mr. Nathan Belete who expressed his delight at the Zambian government and the ministry on the GREAT -TPD initiative.
